What is an IBCLC?

An IBCLC - International Board Certified Lactation Consultant - is a health care professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. IBCLCs are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, Inc. (www.iblce.org) under the direction of the U.S. National Commission for Certifying Agencies. IBCLCs work in a wide variety of health care settings, including hospitals, pediatric offices, public health clinics,and private practice.

I offer comprehensive breastfeeding help for situations including:

Painful nursing
Insufficient milk or slow weight gain
Poor latch or suck
Transitioning from exclusive pumping to the breast
Breastfeeding after breast surgery
Premature infants
Adoptive nursing
Twins and multiples
Clefts or other anatomical differences
Nursing an infant with allergic, GI, or metabolic conditions
PCOS and other maternal conditions
